I have a large bump on my nose under skin?

I think it's a pimple. It hurts and is really red and BIG. But, there is no visible pore to get the infection out. I'm nervous that this may get bigger in time? Is there a way to prevent this pimple before it worsens? I've heard epsom salt works. Anything else?
