09 Civic Si went over the redline?

OKay today i was driving and trying to p a car, without noticing i went over the redline for like a second and the engine kinda shut down a little.. as if no gas was going to the engine.. i was reading about this and its normal.. something about cutting the gas... but do you think i did any damage to the car? i dont usually due this.. when i hit the redline i usually immediately shift...
