Timing belt broke on my Mits Mirage put new belt on and have no compression?

Well my lil car (Mits. Mirage 1994 SOHC) was warming up the timing belt broke and i put a new one on and have no compression? Everything is in time number one is up on compression stroke i think ! i have even took the belt off the cam shaft made sure the valves were closed and still no compression? I thought i might be 180 out but i have tried every way. And still no compression. The valves are gong up an down. So someone plz give me advice.
