My iPod won't stop saying synchronizing! PLEASE HELP!!! 10 POINTS!!!?

i pluged in my iPod, unplugged it, then pluged it in again besause it kept synchronizing and i didn't want that, now it won't stop saying "synchronizing" on my Ipod screen. What do i do!
