I'm in a "rumor, need help" situation.....?

ok, i was in cl and my friend sydney and i were talking. you see, she has this crush on this boy named dustin. dustin and i are in the same band cl by the way (dustin=alto saxophone, me=flute). anyway, my friend was exciting and bashful at the same time 'cause he's coming over to her house. i'd like to mention that sydney and dustin are on pretty good terms with each other, but aren't boyfriend and girlfriend. anyway, she was kinda being loud, and it was our reading session, so we were supposed to be quiet. so i said quietly "[whispers] it looks like you a dustin might be gettin' somewhere ^___^." "[whispers back/blushes} at least i don't have a crush on matthew ^_~." after she said that, the boy that i also like was sitting two seats away from. and i'm sure he must've heard it. danial (the boy i like) is a gossiper. you tell him something, and at the end of the day everyone will be commin' up to saying "hey, i didn't know your boyfriend dumped you." so, sydney and i went to the band room together. she likes to go with me 'cause she says its fun (sydney= dosn't play instrum...i don't think she does). all of a sudden, my ex-friend came into the room. suddenly, my friend vanessa, pulled me and asked "is it true you like matthew willard. 'cause its a rumor now?" i told a lie and said no. now its gonna become a rumor that i don't like him. but i think danial stared it 'cause he was either angry or jelouse (maybe both). at first i did think this. but i know danial likes me. why would he jeoperdize me like that? do think it was a careless act? but now, i don't know what to do. i have a feeling danial heard it...but i just don't think he could've done this.....i'm stuck......
