For anyone whose an accountant can you clarify this?

the thing is i want to be an accountant because of the abundant opportunities available. but the problem is that im not good at math that is precalculus or beyond. i am good at algebra and trigonometry or high school math. But someone shed light on this by telling me that accounting is not about math. he told me you just need basic math like addition subtratction mulitplication and division. its more based on knowing the principles of accounting then precalculus or calculus
