Can anyone tell me what these bugs are?

Sounds like a type of lady bug..I had them before. New Jersey had an epidemic one year.They were in the upstairs only and around my bed more it seemed.Very odd occurrence but that's what they were and when you mentioned the pale speckling that's what came to mind.
