Would you rather have food or items?

If I were to start a new business in the real world, I'd sell something that people need (like food) rather than novelties that are not necessities. The financial risk of starting a business selling things that people will always need would be far less than selling trinkets. In a school setting though, especially when fake money is being used, I would try to appeal to the whims of my peers.
