Why don’t Americans gather up all the Hebrew Scriptures and Dead Sea scrolls and make an American bible?

Because, the KJV, which American Christians love so much, was allegedly produced the same way about 400 years ago. You know, the British didn’t just translate the Latin Catholic bible into English; they allegedly researched the Hebrew Scriptures and existing gospels and stuff like that. So, if modern American scholars did the same thing today, the result would be a bible that is closer to how the Christian god concept would have wanted it right, particularly if it’s done by Americans and not Englishmen?
