Why don't they just make more money to solve economy issues?

I know the answer but I can't put it into a simple ogy or explanation for a youngster. Thanks a bunch. She's 12 and we just watched president speech. She's really interested in politics and think it's a healthy thing for her to keep up with at her age and in this time period.
