Why are people so sensitive on the issue of Gays in the military?

Disagree, when the soldiers are on the front line and a field casualty occurs in need of a blood transfusion, the last thing you want is to have to worry about HIV infection. If your in a fox hole with a gay and he pops the question it takes away from the task at hand. The military is not a social experiment, it serves a purpose and any deviations that would side track effectiveness should be eliminated.
