Why are dating sites so pretentiously lame?

Ok where do I start. Have known a few people who've tried to set me up on these things. I take a look around. I see men that think they are god's gift to the world because they make a five figure salary. BS! I see beautiful women who think that just because they are they have a hold on any thing they want and when they want it. Then you see the most heartbreaking older,overweight or disabled people , people with children or just people who aren't perfect. They have their self worth shot at by the former I mentioned. They consider themselves less worthy of things no one should be denied, love and happiness? WHY?
