Which is better Vtech Vsmile pocket or Leapfrog Leapster?

I want to buy my daughter a handheld learning system for her birthday. Toys R US has the Vsmile posket on sale next week for half off. But the reveiws aren't so good for it (about 3 out of 5 stars on several different web sites) The Leapfrog Leapster has really good reviews 5 out of 5, but is significantly more expensive. Anyone have any experience with both of these to tell me which one is better?
