What should I write about in my paper?
I'm in 8th grade, and I have to write a paper on a "constitutional issue". I'll pick a topic, then I have to make a paper on it that includes connections to constitutional principles. It has to have an opposing end (So it should be a debatable topic) and I have to have graphs and pictures to support my paper. We get 12 choices, but we can pick something else if we'd like. I actually want to write my paper on abortion, which isn't one of the topic ideas. My friends thought it was a good idea, but my mom didn't seem to think so. I'm for it, and she thought that it would be lame to support something that is already in place. I'd have to get teacher permission, first and I'm not 100% sure she'll approve, I don't know why she wouldn't, but still.... the only other topics I'm interested in are the death penalty which is a topic idea, and I'm totally for the death penalty and lethal injection (which is the way it is already, in my state), and I'm sort of interested in double jeoprady (being tried more than once for the same crime) which I think can be justified. Which should I do? Do you think abortion would be a bad idea? I want to do it because it seems so controversial. Does anyone have any other ideas for me, because I really want to be able to write a heartfelt paper.
