What is wrong with my throat?

my throat, or part of my throat is swollen and it hurts EVERY TIME I swallow something,anything,even my spit. It feels like I have a ball of flem stuck , but i dont. It hurts when I sneeze, but not when I burp. I am not tired but i slept 20 of the last 24 hours-because of cough syrup. Im not coughing, or hot so i dont think its mono....
