What do you think this could mean???

Okay so I just got done with varsity softball tryouts today. Today was the final cuts. I'm a freshman pitcher by the way.... well, when the coach told whether or not I made it she started off by saying she thought I was a good player and she said that my pitching was really good. She said she wants to put me on JV. She also said that I could eventually move up and be a 'Floater" which means I stay on both teams and I kinda float around I guess. She also said she wanted to keep her eye on me and she asked me what other positions I could play. But I was talking to this other pitcher that isn't as good as me and she said that she was wanting to put her on jv too, but she didn't give her any other compliments other than that. and another girl said the same thing. Do you think my coach is just trying not to hurt peoples feelings? and does it sound like she plans on putting me on JV? or is she just saying that? I just need some other peoples thoughts.
