Theme for the story of Edgar Sawtelle?

I need a good theme to write a paper on this story, and I'm having trouble coming up w/ one...topic is different than theme so please don't give me a topic! ex. dog training is a topic, but what the story says about dog training is a theme...(btw dog training is a bad example sorry...)
