Should i ask him out?

ok i realy like this guy he asked me if i liked him i want to ask him out but he got expelled for stupid reasons i cant git his # but i am able to reach him to talk but i don't know if i should ask him out hes 13 and i'm 14 i normally go for older guys like 15-16 but i like him a lot but hear is one issue my family hates his guts so i might not be able to go to his house or have him over but i realy like him my friend says shes all right with me asking him out she likes him too but she doesnt seem like she's ok with it but i realy like him should o go thrugh the work or bail
