Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Optic Nerve Damage?

I was shaken by my baby sitter when I was a baby and as a result I am now blind in my left eye. My optic nerve was damaged and I was wondering if there was any way that I could get surgery to fix my optic nerve? That would be Awesome if there was! Oh and can it be done on a 15 year old?
