A question on & Babies?

Oh, my this is a funny question. After giving it some thought, I have decided that from a genetics point of view, that is not possible. cells, eggs and sperm, have half the number of chromosomes that a cell needs in order to divide. So a woman's egg cell would carry 23 chromosomes, half of the genetic material her body cells contain. When a sperm containing 23 chromosomes, half the male's genes, meets with the female's egg, the resulting zygote has a full set of chromosomes and may begin to divide. If she were to reproduce with a male animal, it would need to have 23 corresponding chromosomes or the resulting zygote wouldn't be viable. This is really not feasible since different species have different numbers of chromosomes that correspond to different genes.
