Property put back on market while under contract?

Can the sellers put their property back on the market if the property is still under contract? I ask this b/c I found out that the sellers advertised their home last week also offering an open house but I am still under contract with them, I did find out today that I was denied my application for the house but that's not my point. I haven't signed anything saying that I was released from contract or told anything. Am I entitled to my earnest money?
