x=4 not 3. next you should make a table for each equation. pick three numbers for x in each table (i'd pick 3,4,and 5), then solve for y. graph each equation, find the intersection point. the next question is the same as the first, so it would equal 4. explain the process, and the procedure was appropriate for the problem because both the graphical method and mathematical method prove that in three trips, the cost will be the same. (the explanation isn't so great, but the rest of it should be right)
