Piercing aftercare and conch advice/stories?

so im getting my conch peirced tomorrow and i just want to know some stories or what all happens because people keep telling me it will make my ear swell all sick. i also want to know any aftercare (and yes im aware the piercer will tell me therefore i will listen to them more i just want to be prepared)
