If it just drops without and error and the screen goes black it's either the Power Supply or Temperature Overheat. Your going to have to go in. Blow the dust out and make sure all fans are turning, especially the CPU fan. If you can get your hands on a ($10) power supply tester, it's got sockets for ever thing and status LEDs to check the PSU. Power off; ground yourself to the chis and check all the cable connections from the wires emanating from the PSU.
