Is there a fine for accidently breaking off a nozzle and hose, from the pump, at a gas station?

I feel so stupid.....today at the Shell Station I accidently drove away with the gas nozzle still attached. It broke off with the hose and nozzle I stopped when I realized what I did and filled out a report in the store. The lady in the store told me it happens all the time. Has this ever happened to anyone? If yes, was there a fine?
