The importance of D-day and how it affected world war two?

D-Day wasn't a turning point. Germany lost the war in November of 1942, and everything after that was just trying to keep the Red Army out of Germany as long as possible. Without D-Day the war would have probably lasted until the end of 1945, and it would have ended up with the Red Army in control of France and everything east, so it had a huge impact on the Cold war and made life a lot better for everyone in what became West Germany, but it didn't make a difference as far as which side would win the war, which is what a turning point is.
