ya..he kinda does sound like a player...like he is just testing the field right now...do you remember why you liked him in the first place? if it was just cause he was "super hot" then i would say its not worth it and move on...if you liked him because you think you "know" him then maybe try and really get to know him better before making up your mind...either way, i wouldn't do anything major with him until you are positive you know what type of "kid" he is...
