I am a QB. Should I get a weighted football?
I recently went to a football camp and at it the instructor gave us a workout sheet for a weighted football that is designed to build arm and shoulder strength and quicken my release. I like this because after all a release can never be too quick. He stresses that we only occasionally use a weighted football for the drills he prescribed. But some of these football are as much as 4 lbs! I am thinking about getting a weighted football before I do I want to hear the truth about them. Other QBs use them and they say that it can destroy your touch with an unweighted football. Using a weighted football can apparently mess up the center exchange, the option game, and the ping game on long arcing pes. So, football experts, tell me is training with a weighted football a good idea.
