How do you enter show time mode in Burnout Paradise?

I just got Burnout Paradise and whenever I find a lot of traffic, I try to enter into show time mode. But I don't know how. Does anyone know how to do this? I can get to the part that says start show time, but it doesn't work. It would be very helpful if someone could tell me.
