How do I know homeopathy is working?

If you don't believe homeopathy makes good on its claims, please do not answer this question. I've been seeing a homeopath for several months. The first three remedies he chose did not work, and now I'm trying a fourth one. I have chronic back/disk problems and related back muscle problems, as well as other psychosomatic issues. I took homeopathic remedy 10 days ago. I felt slightly better the first several day, but like all the drugs, herbal medicines, etc. that I've taken in the past, this largely seems to have receded. The only significant difference I noticed with this remedy was a change in dreams--they seemed more real. I've had the back problem for about 6 years, and I know that it probably won't resolve immediately, but I'm just trying to get an idea.
