Hey...how come whenever I use FRAPS with soldier front, my fps goes down to like 30?

Okay, I have a gaming pc right....and this game soldier front. Pretty shitty game graphical wise and physics...but I have played it on and off since it came out for north America. Anyways, it plays smooth all the time. Never lags ever. Ping is always around 80 (which is excellent not to brage but...u know) but when I use fraps with soldier front, it says my fps is 35. WTH???? I can play half life 2 with full graphics and fps is 60, battlefield 2142 its at 100. But the shitty old game soldier front....35???? And what happens is, when i try to film, it lags like hell...just like I have 35 fps. Now, tell me, is ijji trying to just get us to spend sp to get THEIR filming device, which in turn we would need to either play longer or buy g coins to get sp. So, is there something I can edit or whatever to be able to get fraps to work smooth while filming on soldier front?
