Yes, plenty of times. If I don't hear back within a week I phone the hiring authority to find out about my hiring status. If they say I wasn't hired I inquire about any other open positions that I might qualify for. Most of the time the employer says I'm not qualified because I don't have meet their minimum degree requirement.
