Cartilage Piercings and Keloids?

I had my hopes on getting my cartilage pierced for my birthday, but i wasn't sure of the chances of getting a keloid on my ear. The only reason I am concerned is because my sister got a bar in her ear a few years ago and a mive keloid formed. I once heard the keloids could be hereditary, but not always. If I get my cartilage periced, will I get a keloid?
