Can I pay part of a mortgage down payment using a Credit Card?

When you fill out an application to purchase a home you have to show where the downpayment money is coming from. They will want to see bank statements proving that you have the money. I do not think they will approve of you "borrowing" money to add to the down payment, since this will make your monthly obligations more.
