Can a 8600gt and 9800gtx grafics card can be sli that is in a sli motherboard .will this two card can be fixed?

will this two card can be fixed in one sli motherboard? will it compare or the two card must be of same series????? which sli board is very stable ? iwant a sli board at low range please sugest?
